Why is water-jet cutting superior to laser cutting while the latter is nevertheless a highly-efficient processing technique?

Water-jet cutting is indeed a better choice in many aspects:
(1) Cuts items of any thickness
(2) Reflective materials are not a problem
(3) Does not generate heat, ensuring no burning or heat-affected zone (HAZ), and without causing deformation of materials
(4) Also cuts laminated layers, cutting costs
Better than wire-cut EDM
(1) 5~10 times faster
(2) Cuts both electricity-conductive and non-conductive materials
(3) Without heat effect
(4) Output tolerance similar to that of EDM-cut items
Better than plasma cutting:
(1) Without heat effect
(2) Leaves no chips on back of cut items, and requires no secondary processing
Water-jet cutting tolerance:
Tolerance is +/-0.1mm under normal circumstances, but may vary depending on item size and thickness.
Max. thickness: 150mm; Materials: Metals, heat-sensitive materials as plastic, rubber and compound materials, as well as glass, stone, and hard ceramics.
Width of the cut:
¢1.1~¢1.4, depending on the condition of the water-jet pipe.
What about bevel?
Dynamic water-jet cutting almost doesn’t come with bevel for it features optimal +/-0.1mm tolerance. However, tolerance may be different when cutting speed varies.
